Experience Red Alert 3 all over again

Red Alert 3 Entropy Mod is an overhaul mod for Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 that adds new factions, protocols and units, in addition to improving the game's visuals.

All crunch and no fluff

The mod does not add a great deal of new humor or a large amount of new story content. While there's enough there to play with the new factions by yourself, the mod's focus is on changing the gameplay, not adding to or modifying the somewhat camp storyline of Red Alert 3. Perhaps in keeping with this, the mod adds quite a few new multiplayer maps which can also be used for AI skirmishes.

All-new tactics... or lack thereof

Some of the content in Entropy is truly ambitious. For example, the mod adds a top-secret protocol for the Soviets that causes all of their explosions to create toxic waste. This changes how they play the game entirely; the drawback, of course, is that playing with this protocol barely resembles vanilla Red Alert at times.

A brand new Red Alert experience

Everything, from the changes to the interface to the graphics improvements to the bevy of added contents, makes Red Alert 3 Entropy Mod feel like a new game. While not totally divorced from the vanilla experience, it is different enough to be striking.

A choice for the adventurous and valorous

As mentioned previously, some of the new content can completely change how you play the game, or how your opponents do. Other mods, such as Armor Rush provide an experience that's closer to vanilla. Play Entropy Mod if you like lots of change and earnestly think you'll enjoy it; you won't be disappointed.

PROS

  • Lots of new content
  • Significant balance changes
  • New top-secret protocols
  • Dozens of new possible playstyles

CONS

  • Increased system requirements
  • Balance can be spotty
  • Some additions are hard to use
  • Not much new humor
